IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!

OK, so today i slept in until about 1030.. but Linda slept until like 12 45 so i didnt feel TOO bad. We just took it easy. I finally had time to be a girl and get ready and look pretty today so that was an improvement. When Deirdre, (the lady with whom we are staying until we move into our apt tom) got home, we took her dog (Toupie - which means spinning top in French) for a walk and then we came home and ate ANOTHER fabulous French ish dinner and she made me a lovely french dessert called a "succes" and we had champagne for my birthday. It was all really quite sweet.
Linda and I looked through my French travel book and wrote down ALL the places we wanted to travel to while we are here ( those trips that we could do in a weekend AND those trips that we would do during one of our 4 two week vacations) The french really know how to divide up their school year . i love it... They get four 2-week-vacations.. One for "Toussaints" (a more reverent version of our halloween), one for "Noel", one for "Hiver".. meaning winter, and one for "Printemps".. meaning Spring. Then of course, they get summer vacation as well.. its a BIT shorter than ours but not by much.
Anyways, all in all , it was a good birthday. I got to talk to Erin, Mom, Dad, AND finally Gigi and Papa on Skype. I didnt catch Aaron online but hopefully i can talk to him soon =) Tomorrow we are moving into our new apartment.. i hope. There is a bit confusion as to whether we are just giving him cash or if someone( a professor) is writing a check for us, or if we are going to INSIST that we just transfer our money into his bank account , which if that is the case, he might refuse us the apt tom altogether until the money is wired... sigh,... oh well.. lets hope for the best! We also have to find renter's insurance over here too. lol.. Living in France is COMPLICATED!! =) but i guess there is no better way to figure out how things are done over here.
