ok well I dont really have a lot to say. I guess things are more or less settling down. well with one exception: Linda got "carded" when she tried to get on the school bus yesterday.. and so she wasnt able to get to work yesterday. I guess she couldve taken the public bus.. but I don't think that occurred to her. ANYWAYS, so ... more transportation issues but we'll figure it out. (btw- in case i hadn't mentioned it before, we are not SUPPOSED to be riding the school bus,... it was just the cheapest most efficient way of getting us there. "Monsier le Proviseur" went ahead and told us to sneak on until we got caught and then he would try to call the mayor at that point) I guess we are waiting now for him to call the mayor now. But we are leaving on vacation tomorrow so i guess it doesnt really matter right now. I only head that way on Tuesdays and Wednesdays anyways, so it only affects me two days out of the week.
Tomorrow night we leave for our "excursion". I will try to update the blog as soon as i find cyber cafes along the way, but i'm definately not bringing my laptop with me.
Our landlord is supposed to be fixing our shower head today. .. Right now, Im rocking out to some michael jackson songs i bought on ITunes lol.
School has been going pretty well actually. I think I am going to really enjoy the majority of my classes. Tuesday I had some Seniors and we actually had a really good conversation about America's opinions of France and vice-versa. I think I might do this "American stereotypes" lesson with them next week that i found in a binder last year's assistant left us. Then yesterday, i had 10 and 11 year olds.... lol so I will be having to get creative with those little ones. Their capacities right now dont really surpass "I 'ave two sister. I like 'ouse (horses)". But they are absolutely precious. Today I have some tempermental 14 year old who think they are too cool for school. They will probably be my biggest challenge.
I think today's biggets item on the agenda (other than teaching) might be switching the electricity bill into our name.
Oh yeah, and i had a french man tell me that when americans say "ok", it sounds like we are jumping on a mattress?!?!?- apparently we are very energetic when we say it.
ok love to all!!

RépondreSupprimerYou have more than 6, some read the blog, but don't become a follower. Aunt Rhonda, for example, and a couple of our friends have read the blogs, but just never signed up. Count your friends on facebook as well!! Are you trying to become a "groupie" LOL Mom

It makes me feel like I am right there with you. I can't imagine you being in a better place. I'm sure lots of french graduate students are so jealous of you right now! Soak it up, love!
