10: Buying a MICROWAVE!!!!
9. Making friends with my new doctor and getting him to sign papers for me for my medical insurance
8: Running at a flat out sprint (in heels none the less) to the bus stop at 1:20 so that I could make it to school in time to teach and finally meet my last group of kids
7: Sitting behind a couple where the girl could not have been older than 21 and the man HAD to have been in his forties. To each their own., I guess
6: Walking 45 minutes from the bus stop to school ( when originally, I thought it was 15-20 min- still in heels need I remind you)
5: Arriving at school and realizing I lost my key to the gate to get into the school
4: Arriving to find out that I actually was NOT teaching this week, and was indeed given the wrong rotation of "on weeks" and "off weeks" for me
3: Sitting in the teacher's lounge at school for 2 hours waiting for the feeling to come back to my legs and my butt (which was tingling -full force)
2: Drinking 6 cafe cremes while sitting in said teacher's lounge, waiting for a teacher to get done teaching so she could take me home. (btw, cafe creams consist of about a pound of sugar mixed into warm milk, with a splash of expresso lol- needless to say, I was pretty hyped up)
1: Coming home and hanging out with some of the coolest cats around!! Linda, Elena, Miguel and I watched the Untouchables in French after Miguel cooked us a fabulous Spanish Omelette and we all shared a bottle of wine.
I dare Letterman to come up with better. =) Love to all and Gros Bisous

RépondreSupprimerWHY are you wearing heels? That's just ridiculous. I teach at a school to which I drive my car everyday, and I NEVER wear heels. It's torture. Being in France, where you walk ev-e-ry-where...I would invest in some new cute flats! :) Tu me manques!
RépondreSupprimerSounds like you had a GREAT weekend, except for the "olive oil" festival. It is good to get together with friends your own age! Glad to see you are able to socialize with the other assistants. I know it is not all fun and games over there, but to read something like this and know you are happy, makes it easier for me to deal with you being there. Love you lots, and even though we try not to say it, we Do miss you lots, also!! Hugs and Kisses--MOM
RépondreSupprimerOh god how well I remember the day I foolishly decided to wear heels to teach. Did I mention that I had to walk clear across Aix-en-Provence to get to the school I taught at? (30 min walk, at best) And then I got lost and took the "scenic route" home. My feet were so very unhappy with me.
