soooo... no one commented on my hilarious article so I am assuming no one else found it as amusing as I did?
Today was Sunday. We meant to get up and go to church this morning.. but we overslept. Luckily for us, the catholic church here practically convenes every hour on the hour .. especially on Sunday. So, we ended up going to the 6 p.m. mass. Let me just tell you, I was so completely lost. All sorts of Hail Mary's and kneeling and well of course, the language tripped me up. I've never even been to a Catholic Mass even in the states. But, I now have a new goal for myself: i'm going to continue going to Mass and I want to memorize the Lord's Prayer and Apostle's Creed in French so I can fit in more =) On Tuesday, Linda and I are going to go to a "youth meeting". Im not so sure how "young" this "young workers/student" group will be, but ... we are willing to try anything to make friends around here.
On a side note, I have no future plans to wash my clothes in the sink ever again. Towels are the WORST... It took a good 48 hours for my clothes to even come close to remotely dry. Oh yeah, and our sink doesnt work right now in our bathroom lol. So we are having to go downstairs to brush teeth, etc. lol you just gotta laugh. On a positive note, we hooked up our TV channels that came with the WiFi, and so now we get a good 100 + channels... some of which show Friends in French!!! I. LOVE.IT!
Tomorrow, we are heading to the covered market to invest in some good Olives and posisbly some dried sausage. Yum! I am thoroughly looking forward to it. I hope the weather holds up. Its been raining here an awful lot. Today it cleared up enough for me to hang out on the boardwalk and read my book for a good hour or so.
Momma sent me a care package last week, so hopefully i will get it tomorrow! I am thoroughly looking forward to that as well!!
ok well love to all!! Gros Bisous!

I guess I just didn't appreciate the info since I am not "involved" with them like you are. In fact I am afraid to print it out for Gigi and Papa because it might feed his opinion of them. I must say, however, you have forced him to open his eyes a bit more.
RépondreSupprimerAm proud of you for trying the Catholic Mass in French. As bright as you and Linda are, I am sure you will understand most of it in no time.
Never did figure out the sound problem, cause I get sound with everything else. Love you lots and hope your package comes soon!--:) MOM
Alright genius... I know why your clothes take 48 hours to dry. It is raining so much that they don't have time. Take the clothes out of the rain, yo!
RépondreSupprimerI take offense to no commenting on the last blog. If I recall, we had a good convo on it over Facebook chat. How rude to forget! Ha...Ha...
Glad you are checking out the French Mass. You need a little religion in you. Ha...Ha...
Love you and talk soon!

Just think, if you had gone to Mass before 1964, it would have been done in Latin. Vatican II changed that. Let me know about the "youth" group.
RépondreSupprimerMom just informed me that you are "sooo" cold. Bundle up, fine a scarf... you got Gigi's jacket and think of your future hubby. That will kept you warm Lots of love Daddy
