LONG day of travel

Dad's here!!! Poor guy is absolutely exhausted. Not only did he have like 30 hours of traveling form airport to airport just to get to me, we had an extra 5 hours of train/bus hopping just to get back to my house. I guess I have pretty much gotten used to it, so I didn't even think about that beforehand. But, we were able to catch our breath in St. Raphael while we waited for the next bus to come to take us home, and we ate a good dinner. Now we are home, talked to everyone on Skype (even Bailey - their dog) and tried to start watching Angels and Demons on my computer, but dad was out like a light 20 minutes into it. I need to go to bed soon too if I am gonna get up with him tomorrow morning... well at elast before 9. Knowing Dad, he'll be up at like 630 a.m.

This morning, I left a little late so I had to RUN all the way to the bus stop.( It's a little more than a mile I guess.) My calves are KILLING me now lol. I finally got to Nice around 12 where I did some shopping.. I treated myself to a few "goodies" at Sephora (I love that place). Then I ate my KFC!! (that had been planned out for like 2 weeks now.. as soon as I started making plans to go pick up dad at the airport).. At 130, I took the shuttle that went from the train station to the airport, and I got acquainted with the airport, since thats where ill be leaving out of in April. It's a pretty small airport, so I think I'll be just fine.

Tomorrow, we are gonna go check out the covered market and Ste Maxime.. but we might have to go back out later this week cause everything will be closed tomorrow since it's Sunday. Then, I'm gonna come back and start cooking a casserole for dad and me, and then we go to church tomorrow at 6. I hope he doesn't ask me to translate the sermon for him because last time I went to Mass, I was pretty lost and confused myself.

Last week was pretty uneventful. Because it was the week before vacation, alot of the teachers were testing (or sick), so even though I did supplemental hours on both Tuesday and Wednesday, my Thursday and Friday was really light and easy. I just hung around here and watched alot of TV. On Wednesday night, actually, Linda, Miguel and I went over to Elena's house for a French movie night. That was fun.. she bought some really yummy snacks that I need to go check out at the grocery store.

Linda left out for her big trip with her boyfriend yesterday morning, so I had the house to myself most of yesterday. I DID go into St Raph though to turn in the paper work for the G-ment aid. I met up with a friend while I was there (Rick) for like 40 minutes while I waited for the next bus. I ate Ben and Jerry's ice cream which made me happy. When I got back from St Raphael last night , I ran to the grocery store to try to stock up on stuff that maybe dad could eat, but .. apparently some of the stuff I got had too much sugar in it. sigh... this is gonna be super difficult.. tryin to find stuff for him that he can eat.

Yesterday was also Erin's birthday!!! He is currently in Louisiana ( and as we speak, he is playing he first baseball game of the year- which will be his last "first baseball game of the year" he will ever have I guess lol) Luckily, I have been able to talk to him quite frequently even though he has been in some random hotel in LA. GOOOO Lambuth Eagles Baseball Team ... ( thats prob the most school spirit you will ever get out of me for my alma mater- sorry) The part that stinks, though, is that he will be on a bus coming home tomorrow night and he will miss SUPER BOWL... I know , it's tragic. At least for him! Colts vs Saints .. arent you proud of me i remembered, Erin? (and what''s his name... Peyton Manning.... plays for ... the Colts? right?) I'm trying. I've done so well with learning baseball stuff, ... I havent gotten very far with football though. Sorry.

Well I should be off to bed. I think I am going to try to read first. Erin bought the same book I am reading (Lost Symbol) in English and he started it on his bus ride down to Louisiana. He is ALREADY past me. I've been readin that book since like Jan 12th. Granted, I never feel inspired to read anymore. I think I got burned out on reading when I first got here in September from reading all of those Twilight books. So.. I am going to attempt to catch up with him now.
