Amsterdam Day 1.5

Someone i'm friends with on facebook once put "Amsterdam it all" as their status update. I just felt the need to incorportae that once into this blog.. so there it was.

Also dad wants me to make perfectly clear that he has indeed carried his bags the entire time. Yall would be so proud. And he hasn't complained once about the prices. !!!

Got here from Marseille via 1) Metro 2) Airport Shuttle 3) Plane 4) Shuttle 5) Train 6) Tram.
Whew. Now that we are in and settled, today was alot easier. We just took the tram into "town" and went to ... WELL... today should be called MUSEUMS-A-GOGO day. We went to VAN GOGH museum ( my all time FAVORITE MUSEUM- i like it when museums are concentrated on ONE topic- Museums like the Louvre in Paris are almost too comprehensive) we also went to the Rijksmuseum ( biggest museum in the Netherlands but .. it was under construction so a lot was closed off)... we ate at HARD ROCK CAFE and I soaked in all the American-ness that it had to offer (free refills and ice in the glasses... and NICE waitresses).. Then we took a stroll down one of the bustling shopping streets before cutting over to Anne Frank's house ( Dad's favorite!). Look at us being all cultured.

We came back for a breif breather .. we have to get back out for dinner in our area.. but then we will be in for the night and i can take ANOTHER bath because there is an actual tub in this Hostel/ Hotel too... although not nearly as nice.

Tomorrow.. who knows. Canal Cruise? Big Church? Probably more meandering and exploring. I like Amsterdam.. and the canals. and the boat houses. It's precious. Trying to take pictures .. Alot of them are kinda repetitive, but we took some fun pics while sitting at the Hard Rock Cafe today... i soooooo thought about getting a TShirt but.. that was sooooooo 1990'S =)
