Charlie Brown Christmas

Today was Linda's last day in France before going home for Christmas. We went to St. Tropez to see the christmas lights and to go ice skating. Well, they were practicing for a ice-skating show, so we didnt get to ice skate, but we DID catch the ice skating show which was quite entertaining. And Cold. I seriously have never been so cold in my entire life. But i got to see an ice skating snowman so it was all worth it. We had a nice "Family Christmas Dinner" here when we got home. I had filled her stocking with a few small things, so she opened up her stocking and now we are watching a Charlie Brown Christmas.

Dinner at Elena's on Wednesday was very delicious and alot of fun, but French was pretty much spoken the entire night, so by 11:30 I could see in Erin's eyes that he was exhausted and frustrated.. and rightfully so.

Erin didnt go with me to school on Wednesday OR Thursday, but he was a trooper and hung in there all day Friday with me. In my classes, we were writing Christmas cards ( mostly to Santa Claus).. I had drawn five different types of Christmas scenes, and made copies and folded them and those were our "Christmas Cards"..... on Friday, alot of my kids decided to write their Christmas cards to Erin and Me.... it was SO PRECIOUS. most all the girls wrote about our wedding... except one girl wrote that she hoped that my "weeding" was beautiful.

Madame Giordano (the teacher who I love so much) brought by some cookies and a baguette for us for Christmas. It was very sweet. ..... hmm let's see what else? We made our itenerary for Rome... and looked up the weather for next week and it is suppoed to rain everyday that we are there... Everytime Erin and I go anywhere it rains lol... Chicago, Gatlinburg, now Rome. boo.

On Wednesday, we went to a really cool old medieval village near my house called Grimaud. There were ruins of a castle that had been built during the 10th century.. Took some fun pictures. In every town we go to , there are these awesome Manger scenes on display. Except they arent really manger scenes... more like whole village scenes. They are so cool. Their little figures can be sold for around 35 euros a person. They are called santons. I took pictures of those too... I'll post them soon.

Tomorrow, no real plans. Linda is leaving real early. I think Erin and I are going to explore Ste. Maxime.. he actually hasnt actually seen a whole lot of where i live, so i will probably take him to the covered market.

Ok well that is all for now. Love to all and gros Bisous!! Erin and Linda both say HI!!

  2. Dad is a funny guy, watch out! :) Sounds like good times all the way around. Hope you are now done with school. Don't let a little rain ruin any fun. It just means you don't have to take a shower every day. Let Mother Nature take care of it. Enjoy and give much love to Erin and Linda (even though she doesn't know me). At least tell her safe travels.

Keep in touch while in Rome. Hope you don't have any problems getting there. Love you - AA
