Sometimes I feel like I don't have alot to say. It's like this has become my journal, so sometimes I like to write it in just cause. It helps me sort through things in my head, but it's not like I expect you to be completely enthralled with each and every single one of them. Especially when nothing special is going on.
.... Nothing special, but I have been trying to keep myself busy. Today, after work this morning, I went into St. Raphael to hang out with a fellow english assistant names Rick. Nice Guy. Probably the only kid older than me in this program lol. He is almost 30 but he has a super serious French girlfriend he met here two years ago when he came as an English Assistant for the first time. ANYWAYS, its been super rainy here, so we just sat in a cafe and tried to have intellectual conversations for a while until we got bored and left after 2 hours. I went and bought a long sleeve white T-shirt ( cause my old one- sorry this is gross- had arm pit stains, so I decided to give up wearing that one.) Ialso found a jewelery store and had my engagement ring cleaned for the first time in almost 4 months. Now it's all shiny and clean. AND it was free. We ran into a friend and Rick's girlfriend and talked to her for a little bit and she commented on how well I spoke French.. Yay.
I came home and still no Linda. But, shortly after I got home, she called to tell me she would be home by 9:30p.m. So I was very happy to see her when she got home a couple of hours. We did a brief "catch up" about my adventures in Rome and Paris and her Christmas back home in New York. Her boyfriend, Graham , will be coming to visit during the February Vacation ( so roughly when Dad is here) I think they are planning on traveling to Italy. He might stay even after the February Vacation .. which is fine... I just hope it doesn't make me more homesick or lonely if she has someone here and I don't. BUT!!! But, Catherine said she might come to crash at our place for a couple of days between March 6-13. It's her Spring Break, and I really hope that works out. I want to see her. She wants to go to Monaco, which is actually kinda perfect cause I have yet to go there and want to.
Tomorrow I am going to Cogolin to see Elena for about 5 hours, and then I think she might be coming back with me to do some shopping in Ste. Maxime. France has these incredible sales the entire month of January ( and I think June too) They are called "Soldes". Most every store has some sort of discout going on. ( Which is why i got my long sleep white T-shirt for 6 euros!)
Sunday, not much going on. I called my landlord to let him know our sink in the bathroom is not working. He might come out on Sunday to look at it. His girlfriend had their baby on Dec 20th i think. (The day I lost electricity and he never called me back- thats why) They had a healthy baby girl names Lisa. Monday night, we are invited to a dinner at Mme Giordono's house, which will be fun i hope.
Next time, more on Dad coming and me looking into buying plane tickets home for the end of April. Right now, i am truly too exhausted to elaborate on that. I have not been sleeping well... probably in part cause i was here alone but mostly because our neighbors behind us ( who share a wall with us) apparently have decided to do some major construction work in their house..... and choose the early morning as a great time to commence with their loudest, most destructive work.
goodnight sleep tight, dontlet the bed bugs bite..... Love to all and Gros Bisous!

You may think it is boring since there is nothing extremely exciting going on, but it makes me feel closer to you when you tell us all the little stuff you do. And you are right, you can use it as a journal. You never know, you may decide to collect all these, read them again and let them "jog" your memory, and actually publish this. Future assistants might read it to know what to expect, and to find out what things there are to do around the area. I thoroughly enjoy every one of your blogs, and I don't think I am prejudiced because you are my daughter. Keep up the good work! Plus, you write like you talk, so it is almost like you are talking to me, one on one. It is very personal for me. MOM
RépondreSupprimerI love reading your blogs! I'll keep you updated on my plans!
RépondreSupprimerIsn't it fun for a real French person to tell you that you speak well? You will never stop being excited to hear that.
Keep writing!
